2014 in film reveiws: ROBOCOP, THE LEGO MOVIE

Well, so far 2014 is okay in terms of films so far. Here is a small review in how good I think they are.

Robocop

Honestly, I didn't think it would be that good. You know, since most of the time remakes never stack-up to the original film. But I liked the different way they told this story, a more human story. It's updated from the clunky technology from the 80s which definitely earns it some points of recognition. Also, at least this time those ED-209's didn't look so unfathomably derpy. Over all, on a scale of 1 to 10, I'd say this film ranks as a 9.7. Not the top score since some good characters from the original got either removed or changed. I won't spoil anything, go watch it yourself.

The Lego Movie

Top film of the year(so far), and I'll say: IT DESERVES IT ENTIRLY!! I personally figured that it won't be that good; just a few dump overused jokes seen in mostly every comedy film since awkward silence became funny. That why it was on top of the pile for 2014 films was only because kids just wanted to see it over and over again. And almost all Lego-related movies or shows are very bland and silly. I know, it's supposed to be "for the kids" but any lego-fan would disagree. Glad to say this film impressed me with staying with the tradition that Lego is a building toy. Built from instructions, and used/rebuilt by imagination. That and the small twist toward the last half of the film(which I won't spoil! Go watch the film for yourselves, ya filthy animals.). During this twist, I actually(I'll admit it) made me tear up a little. yeah, that is right, I'm not to proud to admit it. On the scale of 1 to 10, this film rates a 10! And I'll say I can't wait for the sequel. See if it can match up to this film's standards.
